So far BPS dancers took to the streets of Limerick City and Dublin this summer to perform at a few different events. We absolutely loved having the opportunity to support the Limerick 2020 bid for the European City of Culture 2020.
We participated in a Silent Disco, a Gig in the Garden and the Limerick Lady event, all three amazing events organized by local Limerick talent!
We also took a trip up to Dublin to perform at the X-HALE Youth Awards supported by the Irish Cancer Society. The performance was a hit and the kids were absolutely brilliant!
Most recently, artistic director Bianca visited the Limerick Youth Services cafe – Lava Java’s – and taught a fun hip-hop workshop at the Pride Party. The summer has been absolutely buzzing and we can’t wait to share what we are up to in August!
Well we are all finished with this year’s Rebecca as TINA – Simply the Best tour! It’s safe to say we miss being on stage and working with this phenomenal group so much! Here is an amazing short clip of what we have been getting up to with the stunning Rebecca O’Connor herself and the gang.
Thanks a million to our friends at Crooked Teeth for joining us at our first show and taking some amazing footage!
Artistic Director Bianca Paige Smith is volunteering at the brilliant Dublin Dance Festival this week and we wanted to shine a little spotlight on some of the highlights of the week coming up!
These are shows you do not want to miss:
Betroffenheit – Tuesday May 24, Wednesday May 25th – O’Reilly Theatre
This show has been described as an experience that is “historical, the effect is that relentless; the dancing is that good.” – The Globe and Mail
Watch this preview below to feast your eyes on what theatre and dance can do to illuminate human trauma. Get your tickets for Betroffenheit now!
Fulcrum- Wednesday May 25th 8 pm – Project Arts Centre
This is a duet not to be missed! Join Bianca in the audience as she gathers duet inspiration for future work. These two explore the concept of human dependency in a way that almost defies the laws of gravity!
The Irish Times says, “Two dancers’ bodies balance together like precarious sculptures as they maneuver around each other in a constantly evolving duet that is utterly compelling.”
You’ve got to check this one out – Tickets for Fulcrum
Magie Nouvelle – Friday 27th and Saturday 28th May – 8 pm Project Arts Centre
And last but not least! An hour of technologically dreamy and physically poetic movement accompanied by live music – you wouldn’t want to miss it!
“Created from the endless imaginations of Cie 14:20, masterminds of new magic, this work makes a unique and poetic moment out of every instant.” Theatral Magazine

Highlights from one of the BPS Dance performances at the Under The Clock Christmas Festival on O’Connell Street in the heart of Dublin City. Happy Holidays from all of us at BPS Dance!
This performance celebrates the idea of Santa’s workshop with the elves and santa’s helpers who are excited about the christmas season and the idea of making and giving gifts. They are trying to figure out what the perfect Christmas gift could be so they enlist the help of their snow fairy friends who decide to make it snow! When it does – they all go out and play in the snow together and realize the best gift of all is having time to spend with loved ones.

Check out the highlights from our performance at the Dublin Dance Marathon back in May.
This performance featured Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Irish Dance.
